Description

Customer Profile

The client is a leading US-based regional grocery chain operating more than 200 stores and offers its customers food products including grocery, meat, bakery, dairy products etc. They also offer pharmacies and fuel at most of their stores

Business Challenge

The client was looking to retire their legacy systems and initiate a complete digital transformation through an SAP S/4HANA implementation. They felt that the pre delivered standard SAP business processes were not consistent with their unique business model. The fit to standard solution would also raise change management issues for the client, who were running a lean back office. They also wanted to ensure that the number of customizations would not cause difficulties during future upgrades to further releases.

Partnering with Applexus

Applexus team along with the client leadership reviewed the SAP screens and identified the areas where they were facing issues. Wireframes were then used to design the enhanced screens that also showcase the interaction between screens for a business process. The SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) was leveraged to ensure that the enhancement in the UX was done while keeping the underlying business processes in SAP standard. During the fit to standard workshops, instead of fitting to standard Applexus fit to the updated UX design and identified any gaps that arose.

Benefits Delivered

  • Deeper understanding of the process for the business users thereby keeping them engaged from the beginning.
  • Business users become champions for the change making change management easier – Improved user adoption.
  • Limiting the changes to the UX layer while insulating the core SAP solution mitigated the negative impact of moving away from standard
